Motorisation of industrial doors: which solution to choose?

What is motorisation for industrial doors?

The motorisation of an industrial door allows the door to be equipped with an automatic opening and closing system. In industrial settings, this modernisation is fundamental. In fact, such doors must be opened and closed repeatedly to allow vehicles to pass, movement of goods, the passage of tools and machinery. Moving industrial doors automatically means simplifying the operations of those who work inside the factory, warehouse or any other industrial environment. Depending on the type of door, its size and specific requirements, different solutions can be considered.

Motorisation of industrial doors: what types exist?

Motorisations of industrial doors are classified according to the type of door. For a 2+2 leaf folding door, for example, it is advisable to choose an irreversible gearmotor for leaves that are a maximum of 1.2 m in length, like BIUNO and BIUNO-BT. For a sliding door, on the other hand, two different solutions can be considered: the gearmotor for sliding doors with side compression, F10, which supports doors up to 1500 kg, while INDY is the perfect gearmotor for sectional and industrial doors.

What are the advantages of motorisation?

The advantages offered by the motorisation of industrial doors are innumerable and deserve to be carefully analysed. First of all, these systems lend themselves to intensive or semi-intensive use. At the same time, motorisation can be considered even for large doors. Our low-voltage gearmotors are also equipped with encoders for the detection of obstacles, thereby offering maximum anti-crushing safety. The automatic system therefore reduces the risk of accidents and damage caused by the opening and closing of the door. Finally, the slowdown in the pre-stop phase eliminates annoying noises associated with the impact of the leaves of the door.
